Chapter 15: He was Not a Swindler.

“Nickel?” Fang Jian was surprised. Why another precious metal?

He had a feeling someone might be targeting him. However, Fang Jian didn’t feel any fear or concern. If this were a capitalist country, he might need to watch out for tactics financial conglomerates would employ. But here, in the Dragon Kingdom, and especially in the business he was involved in, dealings were with state-owned or military-industrial enterprises.

If he could still attract trouble in this situation…

Fang Jian accepted it. Of course, he also had his ace up his sleeve.

Touching the ring on his hand, Fang Jian asked, “How much does he want and at what price?”

“He didn’t specify,” came the response.

“Is it a private company or a state-owned one?”

“It’s a state-owned enterprise.”

“Alright, Lv Ding, give him my WeChat and let him contact me directly.”

“Okay, that’s settled. Fang Jian, take a good rest,” Lv Ding said and hung up the phone. Then he looked up.

In front of him, there was a mobile phone, and both parties were on a video call.

“Minister Han, you heard the call. I gave him your WeChat,” Lv Ding said respectfully.

“Okay, thanks,  Lv Ding. When you come back, I’ll treat you with a drink.”

The video call was instantly disconnected. Minister Han turned to Lao Wang with a smile and asked, “Lao Wang, did you see that?”

The person called Lao Wang was a middle-aged military officer, sitting upright on the sofa with a straight back. A prominent golden star on his military uniform indicated his position in the army.

Lao Wang nodded slightly and said, “Alright, Minister Han, I’ll assign someone to contact him. However, you’re also from our military. Please provide support if there’s anything we need from your Maritime Bureau.”

Minister Han smiled and said, “Sure, it’s just a small matter for the sake of the military.” He paused and asked, “Can you introduce this person?”

Lao Wang hesitated momentarily and said, “It’s not a secret. As you know, we have a batch of new weapons to manufacture on the mainland, and we need a large amount of chromium and nickel plates.”

Minister Han frowned slightly and said, “You’re looking for him because of this matter?” He glanced at the information in his hand and continued, “I’m not doubting, but… does he have the ability?”

Lao Wang said deeply, “We didn’t expect him at first. He took the initiative to approach one of our military-industrial enterprises and offered to provide high-purity chromium powder.”

“Metal chromium powder? Not chromium ore?” Minister Han asked.

“Yes, metal chromium powder, 5,000 tons,” Lao Wang said firmly.

“And did he provide it?” Minister Han asked.

“He said he did. The cargo has been successfully loaded and is heading towards Zhoushan Port,” Lao Wang replied.

“Oh, so there is metal chromium powder?” Minister Han asked.

“I don’t know, and I’m not sure,” Lao Wang replied.

“Huh?” Minister Han looked somewhat puzzled.

Lao Wang continued, “We checked it. He did purchase a batch of goods at the port of Abidjan in West Africa and loaded them onto the ship. However, the goods are cement, 5,000 tons of cement.”

Minister Han opened his mouth and said, “Is this guy a scammer… But his gold was real.”

“He’s not a scammer.”

“Why?”

“Because we agree to make the payment within one month after the goods are delivered.”

Minister Han fell silent. In that case, the possibility of him being a scammer was out of the question. But 5,000 tons of chromium? Was this some kind of joke? Sᴇaʀch* Thᴇ n0vᴇl(ꜰ)ire.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

“Lao Wang, since you haven’t verified it, why did you still contact him to purchase nickel?”

Lao Wang looked at him silently and said, “It doesn’t matter since it’s payment upon delivery. Besides, his price is too cheap.”

Minister Han’s eyelids twitched. He naturally wouldn’t inquire about the specific price, but after hesitating for a moment, he said, “Do you think he might be a front or a spy?”

A faint smile appeared at the corner of Lao Wang’s mouth as he said, “If there are such fronts or spies, please bring me a dozen more.”

Minister Han: …………….

After hanging up the phone, Fang Jian pondered silently. After a while, a bitter smile appeared on his face. He had already mentally prepared himself when he bought and took the initiative to offer the chromium powder.

But he didn’t expect it!

All he could say was that the Chinese people were serious and responsible. Working with such people made him feel reassured. Fang Jian opened the laptop in the room and began searching for information on nickel metal. The more he looked, the more shocked he became. No wonder they had such a demand.
