Chapter 216: Splitting up!

They reached the teleportation gate and grouped up.

"We'll be splitting up so let's split up the loot first. I'll get 50% since I killed the boss. You both get 25% each, ok?" Sem greedily said as Whittaker and Neko nodded.

Sem kept all the harvest from the floor boss while Whittaker and Neko kept the loot obtained from killing water bees.

"Goodbye," Whittaker said, he was planning to go the 31st floor while Sem and Neko were heading to the 38th floor.

"You too, take care!" Sem said the first and Neko said the latter before Whittaker stepped into the teleportation gate. He was teleported to the thirty-first floor.

"I'm feeling so lazy~," Neko said to Sem while yawning.

"You can rest but… only after we return to the fortress in the «World of Flame Sprites»!" Sem teasingly replied before he used the teleportation gate to open a spatial way that leads directly to the thirty-eight floors.

The Flame sprites were the natural inhabitants of the World of Flame Sprites. And their ruler was Lord Agni. The humans have set up fortresses in that world because it was filled with a lot of "Resources" and "Natural treasures". At first, The Flame sprites weren't fine with humans invading their "World" but they didn't attack unless provoked by them. However, the situation recently got out of hand and turned dangerous when the "Misdeeds" of humans were brought out into the opens.

The Flame sprites have started to actively attack the fortresses of humanity established in their world. The fortresses needed reinforcement. Hence, Sem was going there to provide help. His actual objective was to earn merits and become wealthy. Death in the Flame Sprite world meant actual death. That's why the rewards for helping the fortress were great, and becoming rich was easy as long as you were strong enough.

"Uff, the flame sprites has waged a war against humanity! Once we get there, I won't get a chance to rest… You meanie!" Neko said with a disgruntled expression.

Seeing Neko's soft cheeks getting ruddy, Sem finds her more lovely. He started having uniques feeling for Neko two years ago, but Sem wasn't able to understand he loves her at that time because he was too young. But he now understands that he loves her. However, he was too afraid to clearly express his feelings to her. He didn't want to raise awkwardness in their friendly relation. Thus, he was trying his best to make subtle progress in their friendly relationship and lead it into the Lovers direction.

As for why he teases her… He likes to "bully" Neko because he was interested in her and wanted her attention to always be on him.

He certainly did not like Neko staring at Whittaker indefinitely!

"You look cuter when you're angry," he said while placing his hands on her furry ears and continuously rubbing them.

Hearing his words, Neko blushed due to embarrassment. Furthermore, the warmth she was feeling from his hands rubbing her sensitive ears caused her heartbeat to increase to another level. The furry ears were the most sensitive part of the cat-kin!

"Pervert!" She shouted before escaping his teasing hands and running away from Sem by entering the spatial way.

"Silly cat, I'll always chase after you no matter where you run. We're inseparable from each other." Sem said under his breath and a smile appeared on his face as he followed after her.

She was his porter and unless he cancels the contract, there was no chance for Neko to get away from him. She was bound by his side. Plus, Sem believed that someone as successful and attractive as him will be able to win her heart, pretty soon.

As for why they were able to teleport directly to the 38th floor… this was the authority of a mid-rank Ruler. Normally, a contestant can only climb up one floor at a time. However, a Ruler can teleport directly to any floor he has "Visited" by using the "Teleportation Gate" of the "monster tower".

Sem and Neko were teleported to the entrance of the 38th floor of the monster tower. They headed west. In the west region of the 38th floor, the City of Neork is established. It has a teleporter that connects directly to the human fortress located in the «World Of Flame Sprites!». They took that teleporter and appeared in the 69th fortress of humanity established in the «World of Flame Sprites»

The moment they appeared in the fortress, they heard the sound of fighting. Immediately, Sem and Neko rushed out from the teleporter hall and joined in on the battle against the invasion of the Flame Sprites.

Whittaker, on the other hand, took out a «floor skip crystal» when he appeared on the 11th floor.
