Chapter  30

I am very upset right now. I was angry so that everyone who looked at me could see that I was angry.

“Abu.”

As I was puffing my cheeks, Alexander asked me,

“Princess, are you angry?”

“Abu!”

I kept puffing my cheeks and shook my head. Then Alexander came back in front of me and bent his knees.

“Don’t be angry, Princess. I thought it would be very sad to part with Sika, so I just sent him away secretly.”

“Abu!”

I turned around again, protesting loudly.

‘Why did Alexander decide that? Fool.’

There was only one reason I was angry. Because Alexander secretly sent Sika to the Raphael family while I was taking a walk in the garden with Lucinda.

‘I just wanted to say goodbye.’

I wanted to encourage him to do well in a new place.

‘But in the end, I can’t even see his face!’

When I puffed up my cheeks again in sadness. Lucinda knelt down in front of me and looked at me.

“Ariel, It must not be an easy decision. You can’t keep getting angry like that.”

“Abu……”

Having nothing to say, I sucked my thumb to relieve the sadness. Lucinda hugged me and patted my back softly.

“You’re such a nice child.”

“Hing.”

How can I be angry when she say this? I just buried my face in Lucinda’s shoulder.

Lucinda smiled kindly at Alexander as well.

“Thank you. Without Sir Alexander, I wouldn’t know how to help Sika.”

“I am happy to be of help.”

Alexander was, as always, polite. Lucinda looked at Alexander, hesitated a little, then asked carefully.

“Aren’t you going to be scolded at home or by His Majesty because of this?”

At Lucinda’s words, Alexander’s blue eyes widened. Then he grinned.

“Are you worried about me this time?”

“Yes.”

“I’m fine. It wasn’t a big deal. Don’t worry.”

“…….”

The two closed their mouths, exuding a strange awkwardness. I narrowed my eyes.

‘Oh, what’s up with this atmosphere?’

It seems that the two of them start to exude a strange atmosphere.

‘Oh my…?’

Is there something that has occurred between the two of them?

‘Alexander is a good person.’

He’s someone who doesn’t ignore me as a baby, always treats me kindly, and also gives me a lot of help.

Recalling the events of Alexander’s help, I remembered that he had come forward to save Sika even after listening to my nonsensical babbling.

‘That’s right. I am not in a position to be angry with Alexander.’

If it wasn’t for Alexander, we wouldn’t have been able to save Sika in the first place. I called for Alexander.

“Al.”

“Yes, Princess.”

I said in a cautious tone.

“…bu.”

“Huh?”

“Abu.”

“Are you saying sorry?”

“Uh.”

I was embarrassed and buried my face in Lucinda’s arms again. Alexander looked at me with a broad smile.

“How can you speak so quickly? I don’t think Ryan was this fast.”

Those words made my heart flutter.

‘It’s not that I’m particularly smart when I speak fast.’

If it was a transmigration, wouldn’t anyone be able to speak as fast as me?

But I can’t say it’s my second life, so I pretended not to understand.

Lucinda answered, stroking my hair.

“I guess it’s because she’s always with adults.”

“Yes.”

No matter how quickly I speak, no one will be suspicious of it.

Alexander and Lucinda went on to talk about something.

It was around this time that the story that appealed to my ears came out.

“By the way, I heard some interesting stories.”

“Abu?”

Interesting story, what is it?

I sucked my fingers and looked at Alexander. Alexander smiled with a strangely mischievous expression.

“They say that there are a lot of marriage proposals for you?”

“Abu?!”

Proposal!

‘A letter of marriage!?’

I looked up at Lucinda because I thought it was a rumor, and Lucinda’s face was red like a ripe apple.

It must be true!

“Uh, um. Where did you hear that?”

“There was a rumor going around in the Imperial Palace.”

“Oh, it’s not like that. The rumours must’ve spread because I was still living in the Imperial Palace.”

At Alexander’s words, Lucinda waved her hand.

But at least, I could see that there was a lot more to it.

I smiled and asked Lucinda.

“Hwappy Mama?”

I asked if Lucinda was excited or not. I wanted to know how she felt.

“Ariel doesn’t have to worry about that. Auntie will be with Ariel until you grow up and gives birth to a baby.”

No, you don’t have to stay that long.

‘Lucinda must also have her own life.’

How long are you going to spend your life taking care of your niece!?

Honestly, I didn’t hate Lucinda taking such tender care of me.

However, I was worried that Lucinda was letting go of many things that could only be enjoyed at that age.

‘It’s the perfect time to hear that wedding proposals are pouring in.’

Even if it doesn’t lead to a wedding, it’s okay to enjoy the bittersweet of love!

“Mama.”

“Yes?”

“Whow?”

“Huh?”

Lucinda did not understand what I was saying and tilted her head. I shouted, shaking the hem of Lucinda’s robe passionately.

“Whow!”

Come on, let me know the future uncle candidates!

General Raphael rested his chin in thought. All that came to his mind was a man.

“You have crossed a few lines, will the future be as you wish?”

He was an impressive man with thick black hair and wise green eyes. Courage was visible in his face.

He was a man who did not exist in this world any longer, Emperor Lloyd.

“I’m not going to waste time thinking like that!”

The man shouted like that and left the palace to persuade the nobles directly. That was the last appearance of his life.

‘Foolish.’

General Raphael smiled. People thought he was grimacing, but it was a smile on his face.

Although politically they opposed each other, he did not dislike Emperor Lloyd. All human beings are naturally drawn to light.

‘If he had lived a little longer, something would have changed.’

After thinking about it, General Raphael laughed.

‘It’s really a pointless idea.’

The past is in the past.

Then, something like a white cotton ball toddled and clinged to General Raphael’s leg.

“Oh…!”

“Ryan.”

General Raphael’s solemn face was also softened.

Ryan Raphael, the son of Giliana, the second daughter of General Raphael. He was also his most cherished grandson.

“Who do you resemble to be this pretty?”

He’s not joking, the bright-eyed boy with dazzling silver hair and blue eyes looked like an angel. He did not appear to be a member of the Raphael family, who had been considered villains from generation to generation.

“I can change the world with a sincere heart.”

Lloyd’s words came to mind again. General Raphael frowned. Seeing his grandpa grimacing, Ryan tilted his head.

“Huwt?”

“It’s nothing.”

“Sick…pff, pff.”

The little boy grabbed his wrinkled face and gently blew the wind.

“Oh my.”

His grandson was just cute.

General Raphael grinned and stroked Ryan’s cheek. It was then.

“Father.”

Knocking carefully on the door, Giliana, Ryan’s mother and General Raphael’s second daughter, showed her face.

She bowed her head as if bewildered, and with a stern expression on her face, hugged Ryan.

“Ryan, didn’t I say you shouldn’t bother Grandpa?”

“Hing…”

The innocent child bowed his head feeling guilty. Giliana made a long excuse for General Raphael.

“He disappeared after I closed my eyes for a while. I think Ryan really likes you. He comes here whenever he has time.”

“How could he like an old man?”

The cold reply was more like a superior and a subordinate rather than a parent-child relationship. General Raphael looked at his daughter’s face.

“But what happened?”

“Alexander has left a certain child. It was to appoint a place for the child and someone to look after him.”

“Child?”

What does Alexander have to do with the child? General Raphael frowned. Giliana hesitated.

“But that……He is the son of Madame Ricardo.”

“Ricardo?”

“I haven’t heard the details either.”

Giliana roughly told him what had happened. It was disastrous from the point of view of a mother raising a child, but General Raphael dismissed it briefly.

“She’s a heartless mother.”

People who sell their families for their own prosperity are widespread in the political arena. General Raphael also judged the incident.

“Still, it was a good thing that the child was taken here, not to the Imperial Palace. Alexander had good judgment.”

He knew nothing of Sika Ricardo’s face or anything. But there was only one thing he knew.

It is the young princess who found and saved Sika Ricardo.

‘It means that at least the young princess liked him.’

He sighed.

“The Emperor does not allow Ryan to enter.”

There must be someone from the Raphael family vicinity of the baby princess. General Raphael didn’t want to miss out on every little thing, even if it was minor.

“Father.”

But that was General Raphael’s idea, not Gilliana’s. Giliana said with a hardened face.

“I think Ryan is too young.”

“I don’t expect anything from him either.”

It was still too long to aim for the position of the princess’s companion. General Raphael added in a blunt tone.

“It’s just to get a little bit of an advantage in certain situation.”

It was a very cold word to say about Ryan, the grandson whom he cherished the most in the world. Giliana smiled bitterly.

“My father always thinks like that. Sometimes it feels like my father is not here even when he is here.”

Coincidentally, those words overlapped with the words of Emperor Lloyd that he remembered today.

General Raphael smiled coldly. He said to the man he would no longer meet.

‘Your words are empty. After all, you died and were buried, I lived longer than you.’

What did the young emperor leave behind? He couldn’t even properly hand over a handful of jewels to the woman he loved, he died, and that woman also died of childbirth.

‘It was very surprising that the princess revealed her existence through the use of a familiar.’

It was a surprising variable.

General Raphael, realizing that he thought of the princess’s existence as a ‘variable’, laughed involuntarily.

“……I grew old thinking of people as tools all my life, when will that habit go?”

Human life is only a battlefield after all. Just as a strategy is developed after predicting various variables on the battlefield, it must be done in life as well.

‘So there is no need to think sentimentally either.’

With that thought in mind, General Raphael cleaned up his podium. He ordered in a blunt tone.

“The princess is not an ordinary baby. Ask Alexander to never let her go.”

Giliana looked at her father with bitter eyes.

‘Father doesn’t ask for a word about his son’s well-being.’

Alexander has suddenly become the princess’s escort unlike his will and is locked in the Imperial Palace, but General Raphael never mentioned him. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the NøvᴇlFirᴇ(.)nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.
