The Moon Thief
Chapter 105: Phantom Sand Crab

Even after the entire horde of Gavancha was wiped out, the fierce energy surges in the sky continued. This was due to the fact that very powerful spells were used in a short time. The clouds in the sky had turned into storm clouds due to the large amount of elemental energy released.

"It was terrifying... The power levels of the Masters don't even compare to ours!"

"Even though I didn't take any damage, I almost passed out from the power emanating from their spells alone."

Level 1 Ainsars began to talk among themselves. Most of them had never witnessed the attacks of a Level 2 Ainsar before. They had witnessed their power very closely through the event, which was undoubtedly something they would not forget.

"The Defensive Formation seems to have taken quite a bit of damage." Kavael's expression darkened.

"Hmph! Only adolescent Gavanchas' weak attacks hit. You can only blame yourself for coming here on a ship with such a weak formation." Kiel grumbled.

"We're going to be in trouble if we get attacked on our remaining journey." An uneasiness rose within Heinald.

"Let's hope it doesn't..." Kiel also looked restless.

A week passed quickly.

They had not encountered another attack during the journey, but they had always been on the alert. This room had made them quite nervous. Although everyone there was confident in their own strength, they did not want to encounter trouble on the open sea.

By the time they reached the east coast of Shadow Isle, they were all quite relieved.

"This island is almost as big as Saylam City…" Heinald calculated the size of this island bluntly.

"The ruins are located at the top of the island. However, nothing has been found on previous expeditions there. So it's very likely that the path to the remnants is hidden further away from the ruins."

Kiel began to give information about the island.

"Are we going to trust these expeditions?" Heinald asked.

"What do you mean?" Kiel asked.

"I mean, if those who've been there before haven't found the place where the remains are hidden, that doesn't mean we won't either." Heinald shrugged.

"You got it wrong...Of course we'll go to the ruins and explore there. I just said it generally." Kiel shook his head.

Everyone there had come here in hopes of finding any remains. So soon everyone dispersed and began walking the long, rough terrain in hopes of finding a clue.

If anyone discovered something, they would return to the east coast, and when the others returned, they would all venture into the remnants.

"And what if the person who found the remains go for it his own?" This question had occurred to everyone there, but then they figured out the answer themselves.

The remnants of a cult from ancient times must have been protected by very strong obstacles. Probably no one would want to go there alone.

Heinald began to advance, following a path that led up to a hill in the west of the island. He was also observing the plants growing on this island, after all, plants were his field of interest.

After tens of miles, he reached the top of a hill. When he looked around, he saw that there were many hills going higher. The ruins were on the highest peak, but since the highest peak was even above the clouds, he could not see the ruins.

"Hm? This is…" Heinald squinted his eyes, seeing a lake a few miles away, but it wasn't a normal lake.

The lake he saw was a Quebec Lake!

These lakes were quite small, but the water in them became quite special thanks to the minerals in them.

"The water in such lakes turns completely red, and this water has a minor healing effect." Heinald looked quite amused.

However, the main reason for this joy was not the water, it was the possibility of finding one or more Inxius Plants in the lake. Inxius Plant was a very valuable and very rare, its secretions could purify even the strongest poisons if properly extracted.

Heinald started running towards the lake at full speed. When he reached the shore of the lake, he prepared to dive to the bottom of the lake, but the waves of energy he felt prevented him from doing so.

The sands he stepped on began to move, and at some point they began to come together. At the same time, the surrounding area was covered with a light layer of fog.

"I know what this is...Phantom Sand Crab!" Heinald's expression turned serious.

Phantom Sand Crab wasn't a Magical Beast. He was more of a cursed spirit creature, but that didn't make him weak at all. On the contrary, it could be considered more dangerous than most Magical Beasts.

The Phantom Sand Crab was several times of his size. It naturally looked like a crab, but anyone who saw it from afar would have thought it was a sculpture made of sand with some parts missing.

"It definitely has more energy than the spirit of a Level 1 Ainsar…" Heinald grinned contemptuously, "However, it won't be able to hold out long in front of me."

Ember and Narox appeared in Heinald's hands.

He was going to test his physical strength on this Phantom Sand Crab.

Heinald gathered strength to his feet and dashed forward like an arrow. It was so fast that an ordinary person would definitely not be able to follow him with the naked eye.

He held both of his swords straight and aimed to pierce the Phantom Sand Crab's body.

However, the Phantom Sand Crab also moved quickly and met the swords with its pincers.

When the swords pierced into its pincers, it exploded and huge grains of sand were thrown into the sky.

The Phantom Sand Crab disappeared and reappeared about ten meters away, its pincer that had just exploded, back and it looked like new.

This was his specialty; if his limb was badly damaged, he could regenerate it, but his Spirit Energy would be reduced at the cost.

If all its Spirit Energy was gone, its existence would be completely wiped out and destroyed.

The Phantom Sand Crab began to circle around itself, and sand circles began to form above it.

These circles of sand quickly began to fly to Heinald.

Heinald immediately used his spell called Whisper of the Wind and he got rid of those sand rings.

When the rings of sand landed where he used to be, it left a large cut that went several feet underground.

"There was a chance that if it hit me, it might hurt me." When Heinald saw this, he made an assessment.

Heinald hovered over the Phantom Sand Crab, preparing to launch an attack as he approached it, but then something unexpected happened. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ NʘvᴇlFire.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

The Phantom Sand Crab jumped about ten meters up and threw two sand stalactites through its pincers.

Heinald draw an arc with Embers and cut the two stalactites heading towards him.

*BUM!* There was a sound as if two steels collided violently, but also an airwave that was strong enough to blow the surrounding sands.

Heinald was dragged back several meters by the force of the collision, but he did not lose his balance and fell to the ground.

"This attack was enough to make my arms ache. If I had been a Level 1 Ainsar, I certainly wouldn't have escaped so easily. Most likely, both of my arms would have been smashed."

When Heinald checked his arms, he made sure there were no cracks or breaks.

Again, Heinald dash like an arrow towards the Phantom Sand Crab. But this time, as the distance between them was short, he had appeared above it before it could react, and had sliced its body diagonally.

As a result of his fierce sword attack, the sand that made up the PhantomSand Crab's body was scattered around and did not close back.

The Phantom Sand Crab lurched for a few seconds before it managed to regain its balance.

"Oh? So it's getting serious…" Heinald smiled faintly when he saw the Phantom Sand Crab completely take on phantom form.

An Ainsar would be uneasy because he couldn't see it, because as it assumed its phantom form, it was also ordinary suppressing the energy waves it was emitting. This ability to take on invisible form was its most dangerous skill, it was invisible and inaudible for a full five seconds.

However, Heinald could see it, though not clearly, thanks to his eyes.

The Phantom Sand Crab jumped up and sand spikes appeared on its pincers. It thought it was invisible, but the sudden movement of its enemy below took it by surprise.

When Heinald realized that it had jumped up and was about to attack, he had jumped too, "Come on!"

*BAM* There was a sound like two steels colliding again.

With the force of the collision, Heinald quickly fell to the ground, creating a crater with a small diameter. Even he had not anticipated that its attack would contain so much power.
