The Moon Thief
Chapter 108: Lost Soul

After the light beams grasped the disk, they released it and formed a thick thread. This thread was stretching out somewhere.

This formation Heinald used was actually quite simple. It had only one function and that was to make the energy bonds clear, since it was a fairly simple formation, there was no need for a fixed energy source. Therefore, it could also be built using spiritual energy.

He started following it to find out where this thick thread was going. He definitely wanted to solve the mystery behind that skeleton. Once he did that, he would quickly turn around and leave this damn island.

This was a very dangerous place even for a Level 2 Ainsar!

When he came to the end of the thread, he saw nothing but cliffs covered with ivy.

"Looks like I'm going to have to use force, so first I have to heal my wounds quickly!" Heinald sighed and pulled a lotion he had prepared long before from the dimensional pocket of his robe.

Since his wounds were only superficial wounds, there was nothing to worry about, his wounds could heal in a few days with the regeneration speed of a Level 2 Ainsar's body. However, he decided to use the lotion he made from Orphem Leaves to both speed up the process and relieve his pain.

After Heinald applied the lotion to his wounds, the pain he felt gradually lessened and the burns on the area where he had applied the lotion felt as if it was a refreshing breath.

"That should be fine! Now I can go about my business." Heinald nodded lightly.

He clenched his right fist and punched the ground with all his might. Due to the terrible physical strength he possessed, the ground he was on collapsed along with the rocks.

This caused a large amount of dust to be lifted into the air.

Heinald waved his hand and cleared the dust. When his field of vision opened, he realized that a deep pit leading downward appeared. After calculating the depth of the pit, he jumped into the pit without thinking. After falling about fifty meters, he landed on the ground. Where he landed, cracks formed in the ground beneath his feet.

Heinald took a sphere of light from his pocket and threw it into the air. Normally, he wouldn't need a light source in dark places, but he wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything in the pitch dark.

When he observed his surroundings, he immediately realized that he was inside some kind of building. The surrounding walls were made of stone blocks and were quite flat, it was not a natural structure.

As he started to walk, he realized that he was walking down a long corridor. The floor and walls were full of cracks and felt like they were going to collapse at any moment. It was clear that this place was built in ancient times.

When Heinald reached the end of the corridor, he saw a few broken stone steps and a room entrance. There was no door at the entrance of this room. When he entered the room, he saw nothing but broken pottery and rat skeletons on the floor. There was a small well at the end of the room. As he headed for the well, a stone block he stepped on split in two, and the whole ground began to shake.

Heinald jumped back quickly and avoided falling at the last moment. When he looked down from the collapsed ground, he could see nothing but darkness and realized that the collapsed area had gone very deep.

"What kind of place is this?" Heinald nodded and left the room.

As he climbed the stone steps, another long corridor appeared before him. However, this corridor opened up to too many rooms. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ ɴovᴇlꜰirᴇ.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

He hurried forward and checked the rooms one by one, but found nothing but ruined walls and floors. When he reached the end of the corridor, he saw that this corridor was connected to another corridor. He had not yet figured out what purpose the building was built for.

He quickly crossed the corridor in front of him, and when he reached the end of it, he was stunned by the sight he saw. Ahead was a large sarcophagus, and behind it was another one of the same totem he had seen before. While he was trying to figure out what was going on, the disc in his hand suddenly flew towards the totem and merged with it.

"What the hell is going on!" Heinald's heart leapt. He knew, of course, that he was in big trouble, and as always, he was cursing himself for refusing to come back because of his curiosity. He had already consumed a lot of Magic Energy because of his battle with the skeleton.

Just like last time, black smoke rose and began to come together. However, the figure that appeared this time was not a skeleton. It was more like a decomposed woman corpse, with several parts of her thin scalp falling out along with her hair. Likewise, there was no meat in some parts of her arms and legs, her bones were visible. Her skin had turned gray, and there were maggots and worms roaming various parts of his body.

It was a pretty sickening sight.

"Tehehehe!" The corpse woman let out a shrill laugh. Black smoke was rising from around her body.

Heinald was observing her intently. The energy waves emanating from this woman corpse in front of him showed that she had the might of an almost mid-phase Level 2 Ainsar.

"Death Ray!" Heinald used his Spiritual Magic as soon as he felt that the corpse in front of him would move to attack him.

The elemental energy around him underwent a violent transformation, turning into scorching fire energy. The air around him was covered with a scorching heat, although there was no fire yet.

*Shousshh* The fierce fire ray flew directly to the corpse woman.

However, a wall of black smoke appeared in front of the corpse woman, preventing her from being directly hit.

Heinald's Spiritual Magic was so destructive that even the heat it spread around made the surrounding stones look like stones from the depths of hell.

"I have to try to finish her off before she can cast a spell. My biggest advantage against her will be that I can cast spells faster than she can. I should make good use of this opportunity, if any of her spells hit me it will most likely kill me. " Thoughts passed rapidly through Heinald's mind.

The wall of black smoke that blocked the scorching flame ray for too long finally couldn't stand any longer and shattered.

However, Heinald had also reached the usage limit of his Spiritual Magic, so he couldn't use it any longer.

The deadly heat waves from Death Ray had completely melted the rotten skin of the corpse woman, her appearance was now exactly a black skeleton covered in black smoke.

"Already cast a spell!?" After the wall of black smoke had disappeared, Heinald realized that the corpse woman was about to send a fireball towards him.

"Indignation of Ice" Heinald cried out in his mind and extended his right hand forward. A frozen hand bursted out from his arm and flew straight over the fireball the corpse woman had sent him. Hand-shaped ice fumes froze everything within a few meters in a thick layer of ice.

When the fireball sent by the corpse woman collided with the ice hand, waves of both scorching and freezing air began to appear around. However, the ice hand could not resist the devastating fire long and dispersed.

Heinald stared coldly at the scorching heat wave coming towards him and cast his spell called Frost Wave.

A single spell cast by this corpse woman was equal to the power of his two spells. Although Frost Wave had greatly alleviated the intensity of the scorching airwave, it did not relieve him at all.

He couldn't let this fight go any longer!
