The Simple Life of Killing Demons
Book 12: Chapter 56

Volume 12 Chapter 56 : Nobles of the Demon Clan

The crops of Margado, the bustling agricultural city, were entirely wiped out. More than twenty thousand spirits were all gathered in one place.

Children were crying and wailing, while the adults all shrank their heads, not daring to look around. They were surrounded by the demonic insects in a big circle, and those outside were even more frightened, because the corrosive saliva of the monsters was dripping right in front of them. They believed that if it were not for the arrival of the dark creatures, the bugs would have eaten them.

"I really didn't expect that the defense here is so weak that it’s breached by the insects. These greedy fellows must have eaten a lot of spirits. What a waste." On the roof, there was a bull-like demon of the demon clan. His bulging muscles stood out like rocks, bursting with explosive power. He looked down at the spirits from a great height. On his back, there behold a large axe stained with dark red.

"Thanks to these wise spirits, we have opened a convenient door, which saved us a lot of trouble." The horse-faced demon next to him spoke, looking at the city lord and others standing beside him.

The two city lords were dressed very brightly, and guards in armor stood behind them. They sparked contrast to the surrounded civilian spirits in plain clothes.

"Hmph, I hate guys who sell their own people to survive." The bull-headed demon clan glared at the sneering city lord with his red eyes.

"You're just angry because you didn't have to show your strength, right?" Horse-face knew that Bull-head was a fighting lunatic, "You followed the wrong group. You should go to that Del… which city was it again? It’s a fierce battle there."

"Ah! Look at these spirits." A dark-skinned female humanoid demon of the clan ran a few circles around the crowd of spirits. Her skin was black, making her white eyes look like white pearls with her skin as a background. On her forehead, there were two black curves that reached her brow bone. Spreading her arms, the giant objects on her chest jumped a few times, "They all have human bodies and animal heads. Maybe they were unusual beings like all of you a long time ago."

"What do you mean?! Are you saying that our IQ is of an animal?" When Bull-head heard that, white smoke began spewing out from his nose. His hair was all red, so it was not difficult to see that the magic he excelled in was the fire attribute.

"That's not true. I'm just not very good at dealing with you unusual beings. Haha." The human-like demon of the clan said with a little embarrassment, "I really want to kill those guys who want to cry but dare not cry out loud. Suppressed voices really make me uncomfortable."

As soon as the words came out, the spirits around the demon clan dared not make a sound. Be it a child or an adult.

"Yes, that's it. Either cry out loud for me, or keep quiet. If you do well…" The humanoid demon of the clan licked her nails that were as long as daggers with her tongue, "You will have a taste of… hellish happiness. Do you want to try it? Anyway, you all are going to die in a while, why not choose to die happy?"

"If you dare make a move on them, go ahead, but if we can't save the demon king from the seal, all the responsibilities will be on you."

"That's scary, I’m terrified." The human-like demon of the clan patted her chest and looked at the sky, "It's really good though. The demon world has been quiet enough, getting it noisy for once is my wish."

"It's already noisy enough with you here. Come here quickly, so we won't hinder the insects from transporting these spirits to the sacrifice site. The priest is waiting." Bull-head spoke, and several huge insects that were bigger than the humans’ trucks appeared.

Their mouths were sealed with metal and their backs were concave, providing space for cargo. Those kinds of demonic insects were transit insects, which one of them could hold the hundreds of spirits present.

"Looks like it will take several trips. How exciting. All the spirits here will be used as sacrifices and the moment the demon kings come out is near. No matter what the human world is, or where any other world is, it will be our world. Hahahaha!" Horse-face laughed.

"If that’s the case, how about using some spirits as sacrifices first, so they can summon more companions?" The female demon of the clan squatted down, looked at a young child, who was a rare sight among the adult humanoid spirits, and touched his head, "You are so cute, do you need Big Sis here to save you?"

"Don't, don't touch me, you ugly monster."

"Oh?" Hearing this, the face of the female demon of the clan immediately dropped.

"Don't touch me…you all killed my father…"

"Don't cry, don't cry, didn't Big Sis told you before? Don't cry." The female demon of the clan pulled the boy into her arms, hugged him tightly, and kept stroking his back.

"That damn woman caused us to lose another sacrifice. Hurry up and mount the spirits." Bull-head said to his subordinates.

The demon soldiers and the lowly demons nodded as they moved the weapons in their hands, pushing the spirits to climb onto the back of the demon insect.

"Oh, don't cry, don't cry." The female demon of the clan was still hugging the boy. Although the boy kept resisting, it took no effect on her, "Let me go, let me go."

"Fine, I'll let you go."

"Pssk."

"Ah…" The spirits around took a chilly breath. Their eyes were filled with panic as they watched the boy, who was still resisting just now, was already limping on the ground, blood continuously flowing from his back. The blood was mixed with the soil, dying the ground black.

Meanwhile, the female demon of the clan smiled and licked the blood on her nails, "It tastes great."

———Delza, five kilometers away from the city

The bridge connecting the two sides has been destroyed. Across the not-so-turbulent river, the soldiers could see that an army of lowly demons was approaching.

"Are the underwater soldiers ready?" Hawke looked at the big demonic insect crawling ahead with his glaring eyes.

He tentatively named it: Steel-Armored Dark Insect. Its defense, speed, and attack power were all available, yet its fear was still unknown.

Hawke had realized that it had been so long since Hawke had not encountered an enemy that would increase his heart beat rate. It even killed his own subordinates, which made Hawke even more determined to defeat it even if he might die in the end.

"We’re all set." A water spirit soldier leading the team announced.

"Good, if any monsters go underwater, all of you better make sure to keep them there for me."

"Understood!" After the water spirit soldier finished speaking, he jumped into the big river with a plop.

"We’ll hand the underwater to our companions there. What we need to do now is to guard the air. We mustn’t let the demonic monsters come over."

"Yes!"

Clenching their fists tightly, the soldiers were already extremely furious due to the deaths of their former comrades. The eyes of the archers stared at every lowly demon as if they could spew fire.

"Ah… This is hateful, are they going to conduct a defensive battle here?" At the end of the army, there were a few of the demon clan standing there. They were nobles, so they did not have to stay in the frontline like the demon soldiers and lowly demons.

The person who spoke was a pale-skinned humanoid male demon of the clan with gray eyes, no pupils, and wavy dark golden hair. It could be said that the human-like demons were either pale or black. Although they looked like humans, they were fundamentally different from them, because they were formless mass before creation. Every cell in their bodies was full of power, which meant that they were born with powerful abilities. It was a realm that needed the hard cultivation and practice of humans or other species to achieve.

Moreover, their vitality was incredibly great. Aside from the demonic insects, the general demons in the demon clan could live for five hundred years, while part of the demon clan, such as nobles, could survive even longer.

"Hmph, you should have swapped with Pine. The location he headed seems to have very weak combat power." A black shadow next to him voiced up. The sound it made was illusory and ethereal. The ‘Pine’ he was talking about was the bull-headed demon of the clan.

He looked like a simple shadow person, exuding an aura of unreality, as if he would dissipate when touched.

“Not only Raquel, even I don't like the current situation very much." With a huge body burning in flames, the demon clan who spoke had an animal-like torso and a beast's body. Resembling a centaur, he held a spear that gleamed in flames.

"That's because you hate water, you death demon. Why don't you just evaporate the river? It'll save us a lot of time," said the wind demon of the clan that had an upper body floating in the air, yet no lower body.

"Go away, Gale. Why don't you just fly over and start a killing spree?" Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ ɴøᴠel Fɪre.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

"Haha, can’t you see that I'm giving you a chance."

"I bet you want to kill me as soon as I evaporate the river water, right?" Death Demon's mouth spewed out flames.

The demon clan was like that. None of them had absolute friends. As long as they put their minds to it, they could fight right in that second and continue talking in the next. They were violent, fickle creatures.

Gale circled in the air, glanced at the lowly demons that were attacking the spirits on the other side, and chuckled, "How can that be? I am a peace lover. I will not kill you."

"Hmph, I wonder who cut off Frankenstein's arm last time," said the shadow.

"Hey, Shadowar, how long ago has that happened? More than a hundred years ago? Why do you have to bring up something from such a long time ago? Besides, that Frankenstein is garbage. Technology? What the heck is technology? Was it as important as great strength?"

"I won't give further comments on this. He’s a crazy lad, so be careful that he’ll turn you into his test subject one day."

"Wow, I'm so looking forward to it, I'm looking forward to him being able to touch a trace of my airflow." Gale flew up to a certain height, "Shall we attack directly? I really don't like waiting like this. I’m too excited for the seniors to be resurrected. Who were the seniors and demon kings who fought against the dragon god more than a thousand years ago? I can't wait! I want to fight them."

"If you think, you are qualified enough to defeat those seniors, and the king." The shadow said lightly.

"Hiahiahia! It's totally worth dying to fight them! I’ll just ask you all once, are you attacking them?"

"You can fly, go by yourself. I’ll be here waiting for you to pave the bridge with the corpses of spirits for me to cross."

"Fine, if you guys aren't going, me neither. Just waiting like this is such a waste of time. When the priest asks, I will say that you all aren’t cooperating with me." Seeing that no one paid any attention to him, Gale landed on a tree.
