Type-Moon, but the Servant is Tom
Chapter 228: A Portal out of the Desert!

Just thinking about it, Fujimaru Ritsuka couldn't help but connect Schrödinger to the Source of Chaos. This wasn't to say that he suspected Schrödinger of anything, but the situation was undeniably too unusual. Despite not being able to fully decipher the Saint Graph/Spiritual Foundation, their detection systems at least gave a rough indication. Yet now, there was absolutely no effect when it came to Schrödinger. This situation could only be described as bizarre.

Without a doubt, there was something peculiar about Schrödinger. "Da Vinci-chan, do you think... is there a possibility, I mean it's just a possibility, that Schrödinger might be the Source of Chaos?"

After hearing Fujimaru Ritsuka's words, Da Vinci pondered for a moment and replied, "There is that possibility. However, for the sake of caution, it's best to observe him closely for a while. Without decisive evidence, and until he shows hostile intent, it's better not to take any action."

"Understood, Da Vinci-chan." Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded in agreement. He thought the same way. After all, rushing to consider someone an archenemy without clear evidence could lead to a difficult situation. And if this person turned out to be a necessary force to eliminate the Source of Chaos, things would get even more complicated. Therefore, everything needed to be approached with great care.

With these thoughts in mind, Fujimaru Ritsuka turned his gaze forward, onto Bai Song's figure. From their recent battle, he could sense the man's strength, which was at least top-tier or even higher, potentially a top-class Servant.

Unless something unexpected happened, it was highly likely that Bai Song was a top-level Servant. Even if Schrödinger was indeed the Source of Chaos, he wouldn't initiate an attack right now. After all, Fujimaru Ritsuka's current Servant was just Astolfo.

Though it might sound a bit harsh, Astolfo was clearly a mid-tier Servant. Challenging a top-tier Servant with a mid-tier Servant's combat abilities was clearly asking for trouble. While Astolfo's capabilities wouldn't lead to an immediate defeat, it was only a matter of time against a top-tier Servant.

Facing a normal top-tier Servant was a challenge in itself, let alone Schrödinger, who was anything but normal. It probably wouldn't be long before Astolfo couldn't keep up.

Fujimaru Ritsuka shook his head, deciding to put aside those thoughts for now. He had a more pressing issue to address - he was struggling to catch up with Schrödinger. Watching Schrödinger gradually move farther away, Fujimaru Ritsuka turned to Astolfo and asked, "Astolfo, can you speed up a bit?"

"Guwu... I'm already trying my best to accelerate," Astolfo replied. Sᴇaʀch* Thᴇ ɴ0velFɪre.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

As he patted the restless Hippogriff, he sighed a bit sadly and explained, "This little one says its front paws are hurting. Going any faster might wear its paws down."

"Yeah, having a flying creature participate in a ground race does seem a bit odd."

Fujimaru Ritsuka lowered his gaze to the Hippogriff's two front paws, which were flapping like tiny fans. If it flapped any faster, he wondered if the front paws might just fly off.

Clearly, involving an aerial creature in a ground race posed some challenges.

Astolfo smoothed out his hair with his hand, looking somewhat embarrassed as he spoke, "If we were in the air, I could definitely surpass Schrödinger, but on the ground..."

Fujimaru Ritsuka smiled and said, "It's alright, this is fine."

If he remembered correctly, obtaining the Holy Grail required participating in seven events. Winning or losing just one event didn't seem that crucial. Since he was new here, expecting a grand victory right away was a bit fantastical.

If things went as expected, the winner of this race would likely be the X-91 Tank, which could transform into a battle tank. If even that couldn't win, Fujimaru Ritsuka couldn't fathom who else would be able to claim victory. Perhaps... the organizers themselves would come down to defeat Schrödinger?

"Is that really okay, master?"

Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded, feeling confident in his decision. "Yes, let's save our strength for the next event."

"I understand, master!"

With that, Astolfo instructed his Hippogriff to slow down a bit, no longer pushing as hard as before. Feeling the reduced speed, Fujimaru Ritsuka couldn't help but sigh.

What's this? Could he perhaps call himself the master who's best prepared for the next event? In front of Fujimaru Ritsuka, Bai Song had no such concerns. After all, it was a Cat-Mouse creation - the electric car was built to endure! At least, based on the driving experience he had for this period, the vehicle was undeniably durable. Aside from the unease of not having the gas pedal and brakes under his feet, this vehicle could be considered quite perfect.

And... Bai Song glanced down at the dashboard. He couldn't help but chuckle when he noticed that apart from a speedometer, there weren't any other gauges. That included the crucial battery gauge. Logically speaking, relying on such a small battery should have led to a loss of power within a few minutes of starting. Yet, the stolen battery's power had persisted until now, and there had been no decrease in speed due to insufficient battery charge.

In fact, Bai Song had begun to wonder. Could it be that as long as he didn't install a battery gauge, it was equivalent to having an infinite amount of charge? It was like placing an hourglass upside down in a box. Until he opened the box, the hourglass would simultaneously be in a state of "not yet empty" and "already empty."

The stolen battery that he currently had placed somewhere within the vehicle seemed to operate on the same principle. Without confirmation, it was impossible to judge if it had power. In other words, as long as he couldn't be sure, he'd just continue driving under the assumption that it had power.

However, this approach might disrespect Einstein a bit, right? Honestly, if he wasn't the one benefiting from it, he'd probably be shouting "unscientific" by now. But since it was happening to him, Bai Song could only say... how "unscientific" could indeed be a fortunate thing!

As Bai Song pondered in this manner, suddenly, a massive light blue portal appeared ahead. The moment he saw this portal, Bai Song's excitement surged. That's right, this was the exact same portal that he had been transported through when he first arrived in this bizarre place!

He had crashed into that portal headfirst, and that's how he ended up in this desert in the first place. Strange, he hadn't felt thirsty all this time, yet now that he had the chance to leave the desert, the thirst suddenly struck him. "Finally, I can get out of this damn desert? Woohoo!"
