Easily parting her lips, he frantically sipped at the sweetness that belonged only to her, tracing every detail. Lu Lingchuan kissed her deeply and lingeringly. Without having to restrain himself like when awake, he revealed his truest self in his drunken state.

He embraced her in his arms.

After who knows how long, Lu Lingchuan reluctantly let go. Shen Nian finally regained her freedom and took big gulps of air.

The man buried his head at her neck, his lips brushing past her earlobe.

Shen Nian didn't struggle. She just stared at him blankly, watching him.

He really was drunk.

The surroundings were very quiet without a hint of sound. Moonlight shone in through the window, spilling onto the big bed and illuminating their two figures.

After who knows how long, Shen Nian was so tired that she fell asleep. Lu Lingchuan hugged her satisfylingly in his embrace, his chin resting on top of her head and his lips moved ever so slightly once more.

The next day when Shen Nian woke up, it was already 11am. She touched her phone to check the time, then closed her eyes to rest a little longer before slowly getting up.

She had booked a 10:30am flight to City W for him today. Right now he would be on the plane.

After washing up and changing into new clothes along with light makeup, Shen Nian headed to work.

As Lu Lingchuan's assistant, she normally followed him around to assist with work. Now that Lu Lingchuan was away on a business trip, she finally had a rare respite.

She asked, "What's the matter?"

"Oh, it's not anything major," Li Nan stuck out her tongue. "Since tomorrow is Saturday, our department is having an outbound activity to do some hiking and camping. I know that other than work, all you do is go home everyday - your life is too dull! So I wanted to invite you to join our department's team building."

Shen Nian laughed and declined, "It sounds good but I happen to have something on tomorrow. Sorry, I can't make it."

"It's fine, work comes first after all. If I'm free next time I'll definitely join you guys to play," Shen Nian replied.

After amending Li Nan's project report, it was the end of work hours.

Shen Nian packed up and clocked out. But instead of immediately going home today, she headed to a nearby florist at her company.

"Sunflowers?" The lady boss smiled. "Our shop does have some but not many. Miss, are you looking to add them as decorations into other flower bouquets?"

"No." Shen Nian shook her head. "A whole bouquet of sunflowers."

"I'm afraid we don't have that many."

"It's fine," Shen Nian nodded and then left the shop.

She went around several other nearby flower shops but either they didn't have sunflowers or the variety wasn't to Shen Nian's liking. After wandering around fruitlessly for over two hours, she finally managed to buy what she wanted from one of the shops - a whole bouquet of sunflowers. Hugging the sunflowers happily, she headed home.

The first thing Shen Nian did when she got home was to place the sunflowers on the dining table. She took out a plant mister from the drawer, filled it with water and sprayed the sunflowers.

There were different varieties of sunflowers - fluffy teddy sunflowers, premium oil painting sunflowers. What Shen Nian chose was a refreshing lemony yellow sunflower, also known as cream sunflower.

The overall color leaned towards buttery yellow, giving off a very gentle feeling.
