Dylan gasped for breath under Kane’s attack.

“Ugh! Ugh!”

This bastard. He’s intentionally toying with me while we fight.

At first, I thought his attacks were weaker than they looked, but that wasn’t the case.

He was purposely slowing down and taunting Dylan by reducing his own gauge.

‘What should I do? Should I just give up?’

There was no way Dylan could win against Kane with the current situation.

But if he kept getting beaten like this, he knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.

‘At least I’ll land one hit.’

While Dylan pondered his next move, Kane continued to watch him, waiting for an opportunity.

‘Hmm. He has about 10 gauge points left.’

Kane could reduce Dylan’s gauge by roughly 10 points with his attacks.

If he managed to successfully land just one more attack, victory would be his.

‘Okay then…’

Kane thought to himself as he kicked off the ground and swung his sword down from above.

-Whoom!

Dylan responded by thrusting his spear forward, but if things continued like this, his longer spear would hit him first.

That’s when Kane suddenly spun his body around to dodge Dylan’s spear.

Taking advantage of Dylan’s confusion, he quickly kicked him in the groin.

-Crunch!

The sound of something breaking echoed throughout the arena.

The two fighters fell into a momentary silence, as if they were trying to determine the winner.

“… ”

Dylan crumpled over in pain, holding his stomach with both hands, and tears streamed down his face.

“ARHGGGG!”

Seeing that, William felt that something was off and approached closer.

‘He dealt damage that exceeded the gauge… What the hell did he do?’

Their relationship didn’t seem to be good even in the waiting room before the fight.

So he continued to watch, just in case.

Fortunately, Kane’s final attack wasn’t a strike that exceeded the gauge.

William looked at Kane for a moment.

He too, seemed to be taken aback and at a loss for what was happening.

“It seems that there was some problem with the protective suit.”

Thinking that, William called the medic team.

The Academy’s priests from the medic team came and took Dylan away.

William declared Kane the winner as Dylan disappeared from the arena.

“The winner is David Von Kane.”

“”””Woooo!!””””

Kane heard the audience’s cheers and raised one corner of his mouth without anyone noticing.

While watching Kane’s match, Franchi briefly left the waiting room and walked to a back alley where no one passed by.

Then, he carefully looked around and took out a communication crystal.

“Did you make contact with Kane?” came a displeased laughter from the crystal.

“Yes,” Franchi replied.

“Kukukuku. What’s the probability of assassination?” Jade replied.

“100%,” Franchi said with a smirk. “Well, rather than evidence, the fact that the target was already shifted to Dylan and that he wasn’t even suspicious of me is enough reason.”

“Hmm. Well, with you, there shouldn’t be any chance of failure. Do you have a plan?” Jade replied.

“I will assassinate Kane perfectly without getting caught in the midst of his exhaustion, as he will undoubtedly be tired from his match with Jenny tomorrow.” Franchi said.

“Okay. After assassinating Kane, be careful and observe the reaction. Next careful of Kim Soo-yong, he can’t be underestimated. Not even by someone like you.” Jade replied.

“Yes. Then, I’ll go back to the waiting room.” Franchi said.

“Okay. Good luck.” Jade replied.

After ending the call, Franchi put the communication crystal back into his space-time ring.

Then, he looked around with a nervous expression.

“No one saw me, right?” he thought as he walked back to the waiting room.

However, unbeknownst to him, Kane’s Clone and the Constellation were observing him from a distance, listening to his every word.

After finishing the grade tournament, I lay down on my bed feeling tired, probably because I hadn’t worked hard in a long time.

“Oh. By the way, I can’t believe it didn’t get caught.”

It’s about my last move on Dylan.

In fact, I had pushed my power to the limit for just a moment during the last attack.

Normally, it should have been discovered right away, but there was only one reason it didn’t get caught.

It was thanks to the quality of the effect.

Normally, my mana should have increased and been caught by William. But I was able to adjust the effect quality to make it appear to decrease externally, so fortunately it wasn’t discovered.

“Ah~ I guess I can sleep well today too.”

As I lay on the bed, feeling good, my clone opened the door and walked in.

“Huh? Clone? What’s going on suddenly?”

“Well, actions speak louder than words, right? I’m just following your orders.”

“Huh? What are you talking about?”

I looked up for a moment at the sudden nonsense from my clone.

He took something familiar out of his pocket.

“Trust me and look at this.”

After hearing those words, I looked at the long object he took out.

As soon as my clone pressed a button on it…

-Click!

At the same time as the light came out, countless memories flowed into my head.

Those memories started from the day after my date with the Constellation and continued until the day I died without knowing why.

I also remembered conversations I had with my clone.

With my memories completely restored, I raised one corner of my mouth.

“As planned.”
