“I have her in my custody now!” He declared to the confusion of the studio.
Meanwhile, twenty kilometres away in a police station, an anxious mother and several police officers anxiously stood up. The news of her daughter’s situation weighed heavily on everyone.
Upon hearing about her daughter, the woman immediately inquired, “How is my daughter? Is she safe now?”
Lin Yang, contemplating the little girl’s safety, responded with a cold snort. Reflecting on the marks and scratches on her, he replied somewhat exaggeratedly, “Safe? She’s quite safe, just endured a bit of discomfort.”
Confused and concerned, the woman asked, “What do you mean? Do you want money for her return?”
Observing the little girl, Lin Yang thought she must have been lost for a while and was likely hungry. Deciding to buy her something to eat after the call, he replied, “Money? If you want your daughter back, you can come here yourself.”

“Okay, $20 it is. I’ll get the money right away. Please make sure my girl is safe,” the woman agreed.
Still puzzled by the need for the $20, Lin Yang assured her, “Don’t worry, the child is safe with me.”
As Lin Yang and the little girl headed towards the cake shop, she stumbled and fell, reopening the wounds on her knees. Bursting into tears, Lin Yang complained into the phone, “Listen, your daughter is crying so pitifully, her legs are bleeding.”
The woman, hearing this, promised to withdraw the money immediately and arrive as soon as possible.

The officers responded in unison, “Yes!”
