Chapter 15

Planting wasn’t practiced in the Blackrock tribe, but Jiao wasn’t unfamiliar to it.

Before that, she had seen it in other tribes. They placed the plant seeds in the soil to be used as food, since the seedlings will produce fruit after for a while.

Therefore, they didn’t have to run too far from camp to collect food, which made it safer and more convenient.

However, the chief of the Blackstone tribe didn’t want to try this method since he believed it was a very stupid practice.

There are so many food sources in the forest, why do we have to plant the food by ourselves? It’s better to plunder other tribes if we have the vigor and ability to do so.

At that time, Jiao also heard that the plant harvests were not very good. Sometimes, it even yielded nothing and only resulted in a lot of weeds. This was simply wasting her strength and efforts, so she no longer thought about it.

Now, the Oracle mentioned it again and said that as long as they can master the method, they would get good harvests. He also described the beautiful future after planting.

Baskets of fruit right on their doorstep. What a wonderful scene it would be!

Jiao couldn’t wait to try it herself, no matter the results. It’s not like she would lose anything by trying anyway.

Since Oracle had said that they can achieve it, as long as they worked hard and put their minds to it, the dream will undoubtedly come true!

“After the tribe migrates, you can raise seedlings first, and then plant them in the fields. The survival rate should be much higher.”

Yang Yi planned to nurse the seedlings with the help of disabled and elderly people. These people could live till now. They should have a good body and be able to do such simple work, and he also could arrange them to cooperate depending on the specific circumstance.

His system warehouse couldn’t store living beings, but it could carry fertilized eggs, which he could hatch to rear.

The only problem might be that these poultry were too small for the people here, but it’s still safer than hunting at peril.

Domesticating beasts was a long-time process, but before that, rearing poultry was the best choice.

Besides, they still needed to solve a lot of problems such as building houses and digging wells. The daily hunting and gathering cannot be left behind either.

“Too few people, too few hands.”

Looking at the rough plan on the paper, Yang Yi shook his head and soliloquized. Deep inside, he realized that 100 people were too few and not enough.

Fortunately, the efficiency of this group of people was very high. They opened up a large area in a single day, which was enough for 100 people to camp in.

The well that was dug yesterday was ready to draw water, which guaranteed to meet their drinking needs.

“We can migrate here tomorrow!” Jiao said excitedly. She couldn’t wait to move here to live. At that time, it would mean that the new tribe was officially initiated/built.

At first, Yang Yi thought that it’s too rushed to move here tomorrow, but thinking that they were so poor and blank and having nothing tidied up, he agreed to Jiao’s suggestion.

The earlier they migrated here, the earlier buildings could be built.. This prevented them from having to ceaselessly run back and forth, which not only consumed their time but was also a waste of manpower.

After returning to the camp, everyone laughed and sang.

Maybe God knew that their Sparks tribe would soon have a territory of their own and wanted them to get a great dinner. The hunting team had a great harvest today. They had caught a giant horn bull and four bristle pigs.

The thorn-pigs weren’t too big. Their size just was just like the pigs on earth. However, they had thorns on their body, which increased the difficulty of hunting them.

The thorns were poisonous and the people would soon be paralyzed if they got stabbed. Because these thorns were very hard and sharp, people often used them as arrows.

The giant-horned-cows were very difficult to capture. Their size was huge and the horns were their most terrifying weapon. Moreover they had very hard skin. Even by using a stone axe, ordinary people would have difficulty cutting it.

But the giant-horned-cows’ meat was quite delicious. The most important part was that their tendon was the best material for making bowstrings. Leather made from its hide could withstand a wide scope of wear and tear after sewing them into clothes.

The ox horn can be made into a hard and sharp weapon, so even if they were very dangerous, it still couldn’t stop people from hunting them.

“This is all because of Rong!”

“When this giant-horned-cow was almost free from the ropes, Rong rushed and cut its head using her ax. She broke its head with a single blow! “

The people of the hunting team vividly narrated about Rong’s heroism.

Rong was surrounded by a crowd. She smiled very happily with two axes on her shoulders. She was also very satisfied with her performance.

However, she did not get big-headed from today’s success. She knew very well who had the biggest contribution towards the victory.

“This is the merit of the Oracle. If it’s not for the rope the Oracle gifted to have meshed it, I wouldn’t have the chance to break its head. Besides, the two metal axes the Oracle gifted were also very useful. If I only had the stone axes, I wouldn’t be able to break its head. ”

“Yes, this is the work of the Oracle!” Others also followed Rong’s cheering.

Especially the people of the hunting team, their cheers were the loudest.

Obviously, their bodies got hurt all over, but they shouted as though they couldn’t feel any pain and hurrahed very actively.

At first, they were all ordinary people who were disliked and avoided by others, but now, they could actually hunt four thorn-pigs!

Moreover, there wasn’t any help from the fighters.

This made their self-confidence improve a lot, and they believed that as long as they had the proper weapons, they could also be the tribe’s main military force.

Just as what Hei Lie had told them, as long as they owned the powerful will and the proper weapon, they could also do well as fighters.

The Oracle gifted them the best weapons and made them own the chance to show and prove themselves – they were not useless!

Their hearts were filled with gratitude. This feeling was warmer than having good food delivered to them on a platter.

“It’s all thanks to everyone’s hard work,” Yang Yi said with a smile. “As long as we are willing to work hard, our lives will get better and better!”

Jiao suppressed her excitement to solemnly announce,

“We will move to the new location tomorrow. Let’s build our own tribe using our own hands!”
